Unlocking new trade frontiers: NAEB advanced fresh exports destinations through IFE London 2026& UK Trade mission

As global demand for high-quality, sustainably produced fresh produce continues to grow, Rwanda, through the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) is intensifying efforts to diversify export markets and create new opportunities for its agricultural exporters. The participation in the International Food & Drink Event (IFE) London 2026 and the accompanying United Kingdom Trade Mission underscored Rwanda's commitment to expanding its footprint in international fresh produce markets.

Held from 25 March to 1 April 2026, the two strategic engagements brought together Rwandan exporters, international buyers, importers, distributors, and industry stakeholders, providing an important platform to showcase the country's growing portfolio of premium agricultural products and strengthen commercial partnerships.

As part of its export diversification agenda, the country is increasingly focusing on expanding market access for fresh produce and other high-value horticultural products.

Participation in IFE London 2026 formed part of NAEB's broader strategy to unlock new market opportunities in the United Kingdom and other international markets.

The event enabled Rwandan exporters to showcase a range of fresh produce products, including avocados, chili, French beans, passion fruits, and other horticultural commodities that continue to gain recognition among global buyers. Rwandan specialty coffee was also promoted as part of the country's premium agri-export offering.

Speaking about the significance of the mission, the Export Market Development and Innovations Division Manager at NAEB noted:

"The UK trade mission and participation in the International Food and Drink Event (IFE) London 2026 reflect NAEB’s continued commitment to expanding the international market footprint of Rwandan agri-exports. By supporting women-led businesses to access strategic platforms such as the UK market, we are not only promoting the visibility of Rwanda’s premium coffee and fresh produce, but also enabling exporters to build sustainable trade partnerships, meet global standards, and scale their businesses competitively. This initiative is aligned with our broader mandate to diversify export destinations and drive inclusive growth across Rwanda’s agri-export sector."

By connecting exporters directly with buyers, retailers, wholesalers, and food service operators, NAEB is helping businesses identify new commercial opportunities and establish long-term market relationships.
